Jan and I would like to introduce to you the newest member of our family - our very first grandbaby - Caroline Marie Berry.
Caroline was not due until January but decided on December 6 that she did not want to miss out on Christmas 2018. Coming 4 weeks early and weighing only 4 pounds 14 ounces, she has battled some health challenges. Her parents, our eldest son Jordan and his wife Anna, have faced each day with courage and strength as they have relied on their faith in our loving, good, Heavenly Father.
Many of you me with your infinite wisdom that the love you have for grandchildren is fierce and like no other. All I can say is, "You were so right!"
On the night of her birth as I looked into her tiny, precious, porcelain, doll-like face, so many memories flooded my thoughts while tears of joy streamed down my cheeks as I knew the best is yet to come.
Anna’s dad commented that he has caught bass fish bigger than Caroline, and he cried too as I am sure he thought of the tiny hands he will help grip a rod and reel when he one day teaches her to cast her first line. I have already told her mom and dad that I will teach her how to swim, how to play tennis, how to eat Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and most importantly, how to love people and love God.
My team, my family, and I pray that your New Year is filled with God's richest blessings!
Caroline was allowed to come home after 6 days in the hospital, and it seems most likely that Caroline’s health challenges have come because of her small size and early arrival. Please keep us in your prayers. I am so very grateful for each of you and thankful God chose to put us on this journey together. My team, my family, and I pray that your New Year is filled with God’s richest blessings.
