Richard's Corner | In the Eye of the Storm

Updated: Jul 30, 2020

We are truly in the midst of a storm; but, I celebrate this morning that my God is not dead. Surely, He is alive and working on our behalf. “Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him. You come to the help of those who gladly do right, who remember your ways.” (Isaiah 64:4-5a)

Times like these allow me to reflect and see how graciously God has blessed all of us in the past, and He will meet our needs as we go forward. In the Bible, God says 365 times, “Do not be afraid.” We have a Savior who knows the end of this story, and I know the God I serve gave it all so that we can live a life without fear and anxiety. I know His ways are perfect, and He wants to grow us and bless us. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)

I have read my Bible more this year than ever in my life. This is not a coincidence. God has been preparing me to lean on Him for His understanding and His peace and to be a light and hope for others to see that God is about love and forgiveness. I am praying for you every day. Keep the faith and dive into God’s Word so that God can draw closer to you at this time.
